Hiiiii everyone 🙋
Hope you have all had a fantastic week and are enjoying your weekend.
Its been a tough one for me this week. I decided to kick start this healthy eating with all the motivation I have. I’m so unhappy with not only how my body looks right now but also how I feel. I know I’ve had a baby and I know my body will never be the same again and I don’t want it to be. I want it to be BETTER and I am more motivated than ever! What women’s bodies going through during pregnancy and labour is just absolutely incredible and I feel so unbelievably blessed to have experienced it all. Something I hope to experience a few more times throughout my lifetime. But, I want to be healthy AND happy.
While I was pregnant I didn’t really watch what I ate and I didn’t really find it important to monitor my weight gain. The next time I’m pregnant I want that to be different. I want to stay healthy so that it’ll be easier to get back into shape once the baby comes. I need to completely change my lifestyle.
I tried out a new gym class, it just about killed me. I thought I was going to vomit towards the end and that shows me more than anything how unhealthy I am. That is going to change. I’m planning on joining the gym and going to the different classes, they have a crèche there which is perfect to be able to exercise with my little baba as that is often the problem, finding time. I can’t use that as an excuse now.
I bought this AMAZING book. The Bikini Body 28-Day Healthy Eating & Lifestyle Guide by Kayla Itsines, it’s currently half price on Amazon so grab yourself a bargain! I promise you won’t regret it. I’ve started following her on insta, I suggest you do the same because she is super positive and motivating. Everyone needs a little bit of that when trying to get into shape. I LOVE food so trying out lots of new exciting recipes is getting me all excited aaaand the hubby is enjoying them too… win win!
A few of my faves so far have been:
Avacado and feta egg smash
Fish and beetroot risotto
So so delicious and healthy, you really cannot beat that! I’m excited about getting my body into a shape that I’m happy with and I’m excited to bring you all on that journey with me. Join me on my Instagram @ohthatstacey and my Snapchat @staceykins for regular updates. I’d love to have some extra motivation to keep me going!
Hi guys! Happy weekend and Happy New Years Eve!!
I really can not believe that today is the last day of 2016!!! Blows my mind how fast this year has gone and it feels like the years just keep flying by faster.
It’s standard procedure to set yourself new goals to accomplish in the new year and I’ve set myself a few that I’ll share with you. I’m pretty rubbish at keeping up with my New Years resolutions but I’m determined more than ever and I’ve set goals that I’m quite passionate about.
Goal number one is to go on long walks every day with Esmé. I L O V E the outdoors and exploring new places is one of my favourite things to do, I’ve passed that love onto Esmé so together, I think that’ll be an easy goal to achieve and it’ll help with my fitness regime (bonus)!
Goal number two is to start a bullet point journal, I’ve only recently heard about these and I don’t know if they’re a new thing or not but I absolutely love the idea of it! It helps with organisation and setting regular goals and achieving them. I’ll more than likely post more about this when I get into it but if you want to know more I recommend to use my trusty friend, Pinterest!
My final goal is to count my blessings every day. It sounds so mushy but I feel like I don’t appreciate enough all the amazing blessings I have in my day to day life. I fear I’m missing the smaller blessings focusing on waiting for the bigger ones to come.
So that’s it, I’ve not set a whole lot and making it easy to fail. I’m going to make these three things the top of my daily priority list.
Have you set any New Years resolutions? I hope you all have the most amazing night seeing the New Year in and that the start of 2017 is the best start it can be for you!
As many mamas or soon to be mamas may know.. pregnancy and labor changes your body completely.
Even before I fell pregnant I wasn’t happy with the way my body was and after having Esme, I finally decided to change that. I’ve not felt in control of my body/my weight/my health for too long.
I’ve changed my diet but not only that I’ve changed my lifestyle. A few months ago I started to dedicate my evenings to swimming, there isn’t a feeling quite like the one when you’re pushing through the water knowing that your body is getting stronger and stronger. But, as much as I loved it, it was super difficult to get into a routine when Esme is my priority. I needed to find something that I enjoyed and that wasn’t uber time consuming, something I could easily do with a babba.
So now, I do yoga at home. I try to do some in the morning and some at night but if not, at least once a day. I love it! It’s so relaxing but makes you feel stronger at the same time.
I also do squats with weights, arm weights, sit ups and press ups every morning and night, when I wake up and just before I go to sleep. The absolute best way to start and end my day.
A few weeks ago I couldn’t even do one press up and now I can do three at a time. To some that may be minute but to me that is a huuuuge improvement! I’m even starting to get arm muscles (ha ha) which is super exciting for me!!
I did try slimming world and lost half a stone but it just wasn’t for me. Now, I just try and watch what I eat, have treats when I want them (which is a lot) and then just work them off.
These two pictures are a year apart, the first where I am pregnant and the second on my fitness journey. I’m not doing it to be skinny (as much as I want that too). I’m doing it to be healthy and to finally feel happy with my body (and maybe get a six pack along the way too).
P.s any tips on how to get a six pack would be very much appreciated.
