Hiiii everyone, I hope you’re all having the most wonderfulest of weekends!
When trials come, it’s one of the times that I sit and reflect. Pick out the positive things I have in my life that I want to keep there but also, kick out the negatives. I realise that a lot of my posts lately have been about trying to live the most positive life I can, trials have come as they always do but I’m trying to get through them by filling my life with positivity and so far, it’s actually really working.
I want to live my life to the absolute fullest, grab hold of every opportunity and enjoy the ride. I don’t want to regret a single thing. I struggle to get through regrets of the past and this is something I am currently trying to work on. First we must forgive ourselves, if we expect others to forgive us and ultimately we are often more harsh to ourselves than what others would be.
My biggest regret? Regret. Simple. I’ve come to the conclusion that the only thing having regrets does is hold us back. Holds us back from the great, regret free, happy life we could be living. I’m sure there isn’t a single person that doesn’t have regrets, everyone makes mistakes however, we shouldn’t let them define us or our lives. Learn from them and move on. I have had many regrets and I want to move on from them, I can’t change what happened but I can learn from it and make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Thats the most important part, life can be so cruel and difficult without having the extra baggage of regret loaded on top too. Don’t be so hard on yourself, lighten that load and let it go. This is advice that I am going to try and live by and I hope you do too. I recently read an amazing quote which has stuck with me, ‘Never regret a day in your life, good days give happiness, bad days give experience, worst days give lessons and best days give memories’. How true that is. We can learn something from every day, every choice, every moment if we just let ourselves live.
Regret is a heavy burden to carry and it is not essential. Sometimes, we make bad choices and what we have to remember is that it doesn’t make us a bad person, it only makes us human. Everyone makes mistakes, how would we learn if we didn’t? And we can learn even more from moving on from the negatives in our lives and focusing solely on the positive. Life can be such a beautiful thing if we just give it chance. Here’s to living with no regrets because boy, don’t we deserve it✌️
